| Ingredients | 50g unsalted butter 50g golden syrup 50g caster sugar 1 tbsp Grand Marnier (orange liqueur) 50g ground almonds 25g plain flour |
|
| Preparation | Preheat the oven to 180°C / gasmark 4. Line two baking sheets with greaseproof paper. Put the butter, syrup, sugar and Grand Marnier in a small pan and heat gently until the sugar has melted. Stir in the ground almonds and flour and allow to bubble gently for a minute or two. Place 4 teaspoonfuls of the mixture, well apart, on one tray. Bake for 2-3 minutes, or until the biscuits have spread and turned golden, with slightly darker edges. Leave for a minute, then gently lift each biscuit with a palette knife. Curve over a rolling pin or other cylindrical object. If the biscuits harden before you curl them, pop them back in the oven for a few seconds. While you are curling one lot, cook another batch on the other tray. Repeat with all the mixture. Cool the curled biscuits on a wire rack. |
